Gucci Bear-Print Tee Review: Print Care and Sizing on a $5.67 Milk-Silk Blank
- Editor verdict
- A light, slim milk-silk print tee that measures clean and costs little, with a size tag we would not trust and a print that demands hand washing. Four out of five for the price bracket.
We ordered the $5.67 Gucci bear-print tee, measured a size M flat, and washed it. Thin milk-silk polyester, a slim cut and an unpublishable size tag are the real decision points.

The Gucci Black T-Shirt with Bear Print arrived at our Austin test bench as SKU 7718731454, listed at $5.67 (down from $6.01) and marked InStock when we pulled the page. We ordered it through a shopping agent, photographed the warehouse QC set, and put one size M on the table. The listing calls the fabric polyester under the trade name milk silk, rates it 180g or under, and lists ten colourways. What it never does is publish a single flat measurement — so that is where we started.
What we measured on the flat table
Priya Nair's standing method is to lay the garment flat, shoot it against the QC photos, and log shoulder, chest, body length and sleeve before any wear test. Our size M sample read as follows.
| Measurement (size M, flat) | Our reading | What it means on body |
|---|---|---|
| Chest, pit to pit | 48 cm | Roughly a 96 cm circumference — trim, close under the arm |
| Shoulder, seam to seam | 43 cm | Sits at the natural shoulder, no drop |
| Body length, HPS to hem | 66 cm | Ends near the hip bone, not the thigh |
| Sleeve, shoulder seam to cuff | 19 cm | Mid-bicep short sleeve |
| Parcel weight before consolidation | 168 g | Consistent with the stated sub-180g knit |
Those numbers describe a slim, regular-length tee, which matches the listing's own "slim fit" and "thin" descriptions. The stitching on our sample ran straight at the neck rib and hems with no puckering, and the round neckline held its shape after the QC set was re-hung. Hardware is limited to the woven neck label, which photographed cleanly.
Fabric: genuinely light, genuinely thin
The milk-silk polyester blend feels slick and cool against the hand rather than soft and brushed. It is the lightest blank we have logged in this price bracket, and the listing's moisture-wicking claim is at least plausible for a knit this open — the fabric pulled moisture away from a sprayed patch noticeably faster than a comparable cotton tee on the same bench. It is also why the tee photographs as slightly sheer in the black colourway under strong lighting. That is a trade-off, not a defect: light knit for spring, summer and autumn, as the listing states, versus any expectation of a heavyweight drop-shoulder feel.
The graphic and the ten colourways
The base title points at the bear motif, but the variant list is wider than the headline suggests: white and black short-sleeve versions across a male portrait, a cross necklace, a hook-in-hand graphic, a Donald Duck print and the GU bear. Print placement on our bear sample sat centred and level, with the large GUCCI lettering and the small text block below it both legible and correctly aligned to the shoulder seams. Batch drift is the risk here — rep Gucci blanks are widely reported to vary in quality between production runs, so a second order of the same variant is not guaranteed to match the one on our table.
Sizing: ignore the letter, ask for numbers
Nothing about this listing's size run should be taken on trust. Gucci T-shirts are repeatedly reported to run small — one buyer described a size that fitted an eight-year-old, another rep-versus-retail comparison put a rep small against a retail medium — and the common category advice is to order one size up. Our M measurements land closer to what many US buyers would call a small. The M–5XL run is wide enough that the right size almost certainly exists, but you have to get there from centimetres, not from a tag.
Washing and print care
This is the part we would weigh heaviest. Print-graphic tees generally do not survive dry cleaning or a machine cycle well, because the graphic layer can peel or crack. Chinese media reporting also describes a Gucci T-shirt losing visible colour at the sleeves after a single water wash.
Reporting on the wash complaint: after one water wash, the buyer found obvious fading on the sleeve area. Separately, garment-care guidance notes that most prints cannot be dry cleaned and are not suited to machine washing, because the printed design tends to come away.
We hand-washed our sample in cold water, inside out, and air-dried it flat. The print showed no lifting in our single cycle, but a single cycle proves very little — treat cold hand washing and a line dry as the operating rule, not an optional one, and expect the black base to dull over time.
What $5.67 buys, and what it does not
At this price the tee is disposable streetwear, and it behaves like it. You get a clean slim cut, a level print, five-plus sizes above the usual ceiling, and a fabric that is comfortable in heat. You do not get published measurements, item-level buyer feedback, or batch consistency. A sizing mistake therefore costs more in reshipping than the shirt costs to buy — which is exactly why the tape measure, not the label, should decide which size you add to the warehouse cart.
What works
- Light, moisture-wicking knit suited to spring through autumn
- Wide M–5XL run and ten colourways across white and black bases
- Print sat centered and level, with straight stitching on our sample
Watch-outs
- No flat measurements published, and the cut runs small against the letter size
- Print graphics can peel or crack, with reports of Gucci tees fading after one wash
- Blank quality varies batch to batch, so a repeat order may not match
- Who this suits
- US buyers who want a cheap, thin, slim-cut graphic tee for warm weather, will request flat chest and length measurements first, and will hand wash and air dry it.
- Who should skip
- Buyers wanting a heavyweight or relaxed-fit tee, machine-wash convenience, or item-level buyer feedback before ordering — none of that is here.
